About The Position

As an Outside Food Sales Representative, you will cultivate relationships, develop new business, and provide innovative solutions to customers, helping them achieve their goals. This position is located in Cheyenne/Laramie, Wyoming. You will be responsible for the overall sales and relationship management efforts for existing and prospective customers within your assigned territory, including pursuing new customers, deepening existing customer relationships, and sales territory management. The role involves researching industry trends, identifying prospective customers, developing and presenting sales strategies, conducting business reviews, providing customer training on products, and identifying opportunities for Gordon Food Service to add value. Territory management includes balancing new customer acquisition with existing customer relationship management, coordinating visits, and communicating order status. Gordon Food Service provides comprehensive sales training, including e-learning, job shadowing, and mentorship, to equip you with knowledge of systems, products, sales processes, and relationship-building best practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience.
  • Maintaining a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Ability to obtain your food safety certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pursuing new customers by researching industry and market trends, identifying and researching prospective customers, developing sales strategies, and presenting them to prospective customers.
  • Deepening and strengthening existing customer relationships by visiting customers regularly, conducting business reviews to determine needs and opportunities, providing ongoing training on product offerings, and identifying opportunities where Gordon Food Service can add value.
  • Managing the sales territory by balancing new customer acquisition with deepening existing customer relationships, coordinating visits, and communicating order status and processing updates to customers.
