About The Position

As an Outside Food Sales Representative, you will be responsible for cultivating relationships, developing new business, and providing innovative solutions to customers within an assigned territory. This role involves pursuing new customers, deepening existing customer relationships, and managing the sales territory effectively. The company offers a comprehensive 90-day training program to set new representatives up for success, covering systems, products, sales processes, and relationship management best practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience
- Maintaining a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record
- Ability to obtain food safety certification
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred
Responsibilities
- Pursue new customers by researching industry and market trends, identifying prospective customers, and developing sales strategies.
- Deepen and strengthen existing customer relationships by conducting regular visits, business reviews, and providing ongoing training on product offerings.
- Identify opportunities within existing customers' businesses where Gordon Food Service can add value through product and service offerings.
- Manage the sales territory by balancing new customer acquisition with existing customer relationship management.
- Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers.
- Communicate order status and order processing updates to customers.
