Requirements

  • Professional, well-developed written and verbal communication; ability to complete routine reports and manage correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate proof of income, debt to income and loan to value.
  • Knowledgeable in compliance and ability to verify and interpret state and federal IDs and documents for membership eligibility including collections and policy/procedures regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to multitask successfully, work well under pressure and handle stressful workload.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, cooperate with outside parties, members and co-workers.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet numerous deadlines; adaptable to workflow changes, manage competing demands, frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Proficient in Windows-based software, pertinent software applications and core system; ability to utilize customary office equipment.
  • Successful loan experience in equivalent size institution for at least three years.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience that provides required knowledge and skills to perform essential duties.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with franchised and independent automobile dealerships to increase indirect loan production while ensuring dealer compliance, portfolio quality, and exceptional service.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the credit union and its dealer partners.
  • Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of member and non-member applications for automobile loans using established policies and procedures of the credit union through the Indirect Lending Program of auto dealers and dealer networks.
  • Review and analyze credit applications from auto dealers to assess credit worthiness; confer with their finance department.
  • Develop new dealership relationships while maintaining current dealership relationships across Oklahoma and Kansas; including weekly visits to dealerships.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for dealership management and maintain a high level of dealer satisfaction; resolving dealer concerns promptly.
  • Ensure dealer compliance with all program requirements.
  • Working closely with Compliance in identifying red flag fraud alerts on credit reports and requesting appropriate Federal and State documentation from dealers to clear any credit bureau and social security issues.
  • Monitor dealer approval, booking, and funding trends.
  • Staying up to date on dealer performance metrics, and monitor dealer recourse buyback activity.
  • Act as liaison between direct underwriters, branches, members and dealerships.
  • Remain on call through personal mobile phone up to 14 hours a day, 6 days a week for any dealer needs.
  • Assist dealers with structuring loan applications, explain underwriting decisions when appropriate, and help identify opportunities to improve approval ratios.
  • Research competitive lending programs and recommend enhancements to VP of Lending.
  • Educate dealers on new products and program enhancements and provide refresher trainings as needed.
  • Represent credit union at highest level in dealer meetings, auto industry events and association functions.
