About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Outreach Worker at Rediscovery Independent Living! We are an independent living program that houses young men and women ages 18 to 24 years old in small efficient-type apartments or shared living housing. Our program is designed to support the youth we serve as they become successful and productive community members.

Requirements

Must be 21 years or older.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
32-40 hours per week with occasional nights and weekends ensuring all youth needs are met.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
Must have general computer skills and strong financial literacy skills.
Must have an active driver’s license.
Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field is preferred.
Experience working with older at-risk youth and young adults (17-23 y.o.) preferred.
Bilingual candidates able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge of the state DMH and DCF systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Accompany youth to appointments, supporting them in achieving their goals.
Serve as an effective role model while establishing limits and fostering appropriate relationships with clients.
