About The Position

Provide services to homeless individuals encountered in the Cafe during hours mandated by the City of Philadelphia’s Coordinated Cafe Initiative. Engage homeless persons into accepting appropriate services, which may include the facilitation of voluntary/involuntary hospitalizations and/or referrals to other supports. Implement the overall mission, values and beliefs of Horizon House in all aspects of the job.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED and a minimum of (3) years of relevant experience in substance abuse counseling; or any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in working with Drug and Alcohol affected clients preferred
• Mental Health knowledge desired
