About The Position

The Outreach Specialist is responsible for promoting a home energy rebate program in residential areas through effective community engagement. This role involves identifying and developing relationships with contractors and community-based partner organizations; organizing and attending events; and delivering presentations to raise awareness, engagement, and participation within the program. The primary goal is to deepen customer/contractor awareness and engagement with the program, specifically targeting income-qualified residents and hard-to-engage communities within the state of Michigan. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, including local government and CBOs, to streamline the implementation of projects. The Outreach Specialist will also contribute to educational initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in community outreach and event planning.
  • Project management and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong time management, customer service and public speaking skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently with little guidance.
  • Passion for creating equity within the clean energy economy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in educational outreach and networking.
  • Cultural sensitivity.
  • Customer service orientation with regulatory awareness.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for management.
  • Community engagement and education.
