About The Position

This is a full-time security officer position specializing in Outreach. Outreach Officers are responsible for assisting community members experiencing homelessness or are in need of help and support. You will research and review information from reliable sources and provide direct service and support to community members by providing information about temporary housing, medical care, legal aids and more. You will assist clients on your journey to self-sufficiency, collect data to evaluate success of the support system that you help create, identify new ways to assist those in need and present findings for future use. Outreach Officers are the backbone of the community to ensure liveliness in all. If you enjoy helping others, creating new processes and collaborating with a team, this is the position for you!

Requirements

Must possess a current BSIS Guard Card.
Must possess a current BSIS Baton Permit
Must possess a current Pepper Spray Certification
Must possess a current CPR / First Aid Certification
Must possess a valid Driver's License with a CLEAN driver's record for the past three years
Access control experience
Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to read, write and understand and carry out written orders, policies, procedures, and instructions.
Ability to write and understand English
Demonstrate a positive attitude, outstanding customer service skills, and take the initiative in completing assigned tasks.
Willing to accept shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime if needed.
Reliable transportation
Friendly and professional demeanor
Able to pass a drug test and background check
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Possess and maintain a valid State Guard Registration (guard card)
Conduct foot patrols alone.
Patrol and maintain general security of assigned property as described in Post Orders / SOP.
Utilize a smartphone or similar device to maintain a Daily Activity Report, and create Incident and Facility Maintenance Reports.
Maintain consistent performance, attendance, uniform appearance, and professional grooming.
Maintain professional communications with clients, colleagues, and the public.
Respond to emergency calls, including medical, fire, and damage to property.
Protect our organization’s facilities.
Patrolling our facilities and detecting unauthorized activities.
Maintaining an awareness of the environment and ensuring the safety of employees and visitors.
Responding to emergency situations and emergency calls.
Preventing theft, damage, or injury in our organization.
