About The Position

Under supervision of the Outreach Supervisor, the Outreach Coordinator plans community outreach efforts and builds strategic relationships between the agency and various stakeholders across the state. This role involves coordinating with the Communications Supervisor to develop and implement a statewide community outreach plan to increase awareness of Georgia Access, including supervising vendor activities and services. The position also assists with the development of public education and information materials, presentations, and displays, contributing to agency newsletters, media outreach, and website content. The Outreach Coordinator organizes and participates in statewide community outreach activities to educate the public about Georgia Access and available resources, maintains business plans for relationship development, and manages a calendar of outreach activities and events. Additionally, the role involves responding to public inquiries, updating the Outreach Supervisor on public matters, overseeing the maintenance of a community database, and cultivating relationships with the public. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Five (5) years of experience in communications or job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Communications Spec 2 (GSP041).

Responsibilities

  • Plan community outreach efforts and build strategic relationships between the agency and various stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Communications Supervisor to develop and implement the statewide community outreach plan to increase awareness of Georgia Access.
  • Supervise the activities and services provided by vendors.
  • Assist with the development of public education and information materials, presentations and displays.
  • Contribute to the agency’s newsletters, media/new media outreach, and website content.
  • Organize and participate at statewide community outreach activities to educate the broader community about Georgia Access and available resources.
  • Maintain and establish business plans regarding the development of relationships and contacts.
  • Maintain a calendar with all the outreach activities and events as planned statewide on the schedule.
  • Respond to public and community inquiries.
  • Update the Outreach Supervisor on matters of public interest and concern.
  • Oversee the maintenance of a community database of interested parties and issues.
  • Build, strengthen, and cultivate relationships with the public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
