UNC Charlotte Track & Field is an NCAA Division I program supporting a diverse roster of student-athletes across sprint, distance, jumping, and throwing events. Athletic Trainers provide comprehensive care in a fast-paced collegiate setting, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and return-to-play planning, in close collaboration with coaches and sports medicine staff. Atrium Health Athletic Training partners with colleges and universities across the Charlotte region to deliver comprehensive, on-site sports medicine services that support the health, performance, and safety of student-athletes. As one of the region’s largest outreach programs, Atrium Health provides embedded athletic trainers, team physicians, and access to orthopedic and sports medicine specialists, ensuring seamless care from injury prevention through return-to-play. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Athletic Training Services, the outreach athletic trainer is responsible for the day-to-day medical coverage in the collegiate and/or professional sports setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with injury prevention, human movement correction, and be able to play an active role in developing the next generation of professional footballers. Provide standard immediate care procedures used in emergency situations, clinical evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning. Employ appropriate assessment outcomes measures to determine effectiveness of the outreach program; determines appropriate return to play of student-athletes and active population. Management of head injuries and concussions; referral to appropriate medical professionals to ensure optimal level of care; all duties and responsibilities performed under the supervision of a directing physician. Also works collaboratively with the Sports Medicine Team to ensure service excellence for all customers of the athletic training outreach program.
