The Athletic Trainer – Floater serves as a flexible clinical and outreach resource within Athletic Training Services, providing athletic training coverage for partnered high schools, community sporting events, and orthopedic clinics as needed to ensure uninterrupted patient care and departmental support. The role is responsible for injury prevention, on-field emergency care, clinical evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation, return-to-play decision-making, medical documentation, inventory and equipment management, and coordination of referrals within the healthcare system. Working independently while collaborating with physicians, coaches, schools, and healthcare teams, the athletic trainer supports community service initiatives, assists with education and outreach programs, mentors students when applicable, and maintains compliance with professional, regulatory, and organizational standards. The position requires local travel, flexible scheduling including nights and weekends, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to varying assignments based on organizational and community needs.
