About The Position

The Outreach and Partnership Coordinator supports statewide immunization efforts within the Education, Outreach, and Communications Unit of the North Carolina Immunization Branch, by developing and implementing data‑informed statewide public health education and outreach strategies to improve immunization coverage. The role uses immunization and population data, community insights, and partner feedback to identify educational needs, inform outreach strategies, and build and strengthen partnerships. The Coordinator collaborates with Immunization Branch staff and external partners to deliver immunization education, technical assistance, site visits, presentations, and outreach materials to providers and community organizations. A central function of the position is building and maintaining partnerships with traditional and nontraditional organizations and trusted messengers to expand the reach of immunization initiatives across the state. The position advances statewide communication and engagement strategies that strengthen immunization awareness and access.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Public Health Education or in Public Health with a major in public health education from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in public health education
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in health education from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in public health education
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Adult Immunization Program using the CDC Adult Immunization Program Framework.
  • Develop and implement data‑informed education and outreach strategies to increase immunizations among uninsured, underinsured, and special populations with identified vaccination gaps.
  • Provide public health education consultation, technical assistance, site visits, presentations, and guidance to immunization providers and community partners on immunization recommendations, best practices, available resources, and program initiatives.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with immunization providers, community-based organizations, coalitions, advocacy organizations, trusted messengers, state agencies, and other stakeholders to advance immunization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Education, Outreach, and Communications Unit to develop and implement targeted communication campaigns, educational resources, and outreach materials for immunizations, including seasonal, outbreak response, and other emerging needs.
  • Analyze immunization and population data to identify needs, inform outreach strategies, and monitor program performance and vaccine coverage.
