The Outreach & Admissions Counselor will conduct innovative outreach activities with public service agencies, community organizations, schools, and individuals to identify and recruit eligible candidates for the Job Corps program. This role involves interviewing interested candidates, gathering pertinent information, preparing documentation, and maintaining monthly recruitment goals. The counselor will also review and audit assigned areas for contractual compliance, prepare reports, arrange and assist with pre-enrollment orientations and center tours, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures affecting student recruitment. A key aspect of the role is building networks with various youth development and community organizations to create a strong base for recruiting potential students. The position also involves introducing labor market information to aid in career transitions and participating in student employability programs. The counselor will support and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy and promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring, and monitoring student conduct. Maintaining accountability for students and property, adhering to safety practices, and performing other assigned duties are also part of the responsibilities.
