About The Position

Transition Bikes is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people to join our Outpost team. This role blends customer experience, bike repairs, and sales, but at its core, it’s about creating memorable interactions and making every person who walks through the door feel welcome.

Requirements

• A mix of experience, attitude, and how you show up day to day
• Knowledge of mountain bikes, components, and accessories
• Organized and able to keep a clean, dialed workspace
• Clear, friendly, and confident communication
• Comfortable starting conversations and engaging with a wide range of people
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, social environment
• Available to work weekends
• Must have, or be eligible to earn, a valid M.A.S.T. permit (21+)
• Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, Bellingham, WA

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a bike shop is a plus
• Experience with bike repairs and maintenance is a plus
• Experience in retail or other customer-facing roles is a plus

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, high-energy environment for everyone who walks in
• Go out of your way to make each customer interaction memorable
• Help customers find the right bike or setup for their needs
• Set up and assist with demo bikes and new bike deliveries
• Tend the bar and serve drinks/snacks while maintaining a great atmosphere
• Assist with general sales and customer inquiries
• Perform opening and closing duties.
• Help maintain the demo fleet by cleaning and preparing demo bikes.
• Stock, label, organize, and merchandise products.
• Monitor and respond to emails and phone calls.
• Perform bike repairs and maintenance on customer bikes, demo fleet bikes, and showroom bikes.
• Help maintain the demo fleet, including cleaning and prepping bikes for customers.
• Assemble new bikes for the showroom floor and for customer orders.
• Offer feedback to product development and customer service teams to improve quality control and customer satisfaction.
