About The Position

LightWorks Counseling & Wellness by Shineforth is seeking an experienced licensed outpatient therapist to help shape a new program rooted in a 125-year legacy of impact. LightWorks Counseling & Wellness provides high-quality, individualized care to children, teens, young adults, and their caregivers. We lead with compassion, avoid judgment, and meet individuals and families where they are. As part of Shineforth’s long-standing nonprofit mission, LightWorks expands access to outpatient mental health care through a blend of in-person and telehealth services. This launch-phase program offers clinicians the opportunity to help build a growing service line, expanding into a multidisciplinary model that includes psychological evaluations, psychiatry, and specialized wellness services.

Requirements

  • Master’s Level and Licensed (LCSW, LPC, or LCP in Virginia)
  • Strong documentation and technology proficiency
  • Growth-oriented and prioritizes evidence-based practices
  • Committed to exceptional client care and customer service
  • Embraces Collaborative Problem Solving
  • Energized by helping launch and grow a new program
  • Ability to work one evening per week until 7:00 PM
  • Caseload of 25 billable sessions per week
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical documentation systems required

Nice To Haves

  • May have advanced certifications or specialty training (EMDR, Registered Play Therapist, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and multidisciplinary team to support integrated, whole-person care
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in compliance with agency, licensing, and insurance standards
  • Provide client and caregiver education, care coordination, and appropriate referrals
  • Respond to crisis situations in alignment with agency protocols
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
