The Outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing clinical behavioral health services at a designated DGS location. This role involves providing evaluative, diagnostic, and psychotherapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. The therapist will conceptualize treatment plans, assess client needs and risks, and apply knowledge of developmental factors, family, and community systems. A key aspect of the role is maintaining an assigned caseload in compliance with agency standards for direct clinical care. The therapist will also participate in interagency committees, community task forces, and advocacy groups. Additionally, the position may involve providing clinical supervision for Master's program interns and staff members, as well as offering feedback for program improvement. Collaboration with community resources, school staff, and other agencies is essential, as is completing required clinical documentation within established timeframes and participating in scheduled supervision. Maintaining active licensure with the respective State of Delaware Division of Professional Regulation is also a requirement. The role emphasizes strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, adherence to professional ethics, effective communication, and a commitment to DGS' core values. Competencies include knowledge and application of therapeutic interventions, clinical judgment, effective practice management, adaptability, and strong written and oral communication skills.
