About The Position

This role provides mental health screening, brief and ongoing therapy, and care coordination for patients navigating pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, pregnancy loss, infertility, and related life transitions. The individual will be a full-time employee of Manning Family Children’s, supporting its mission, vision, and core values. They will have access to Manning Family Children’s specialty and behavioral health services to supplement behavioral health needs and will complete all documentation in the electronic medical record in a timely manner. The individual may perform Care Coordination for patients requiring specialized care and refer to appropriate resources as needed. Clinical Supervision of unlicensed staff may be required. This position offers career development opportunities at Manning Family Children’s and involves working at defined LCMC obstetric clinic and hospital locations, including telehealth service delivery. The ideal candidate is comfortable working embedded within a fast-paced medical setting alongside OB/GYNs, clinic, and nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited school in Social Work or Mental Heath Counseling.
  • Licensed LPC or LCSW in the state of Louisiana.
  • 2 years of progressively increasing experience in a clinical setting.
  • Previous hospital experience.
  • Crisis intervention experience.
  • Experience navigating community partnerships with community programs and health care providers.
  • Experience or training in providing services to pregnant and postpartum patients.
  • Excellent skills in communication.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Clinical knowledge of and ability to work with a variety of psychosocial issues of pregnant and postpartum populations.
  • Detail-oriented, independent self-starters.
  • Unwavering commitment to improving maternal health outcomes.
  • Record of high performance in challenging situations, requiring problem solving skills and good judgement.
