About The Position

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization. The nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care. The Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model. The Endoscopy Unit at the OSU Wexner Medical Center’s Dublin Surgery Center provides outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic GI and pulmonary procedures, including colonoscopies, EGDs, and bronchoscopies. Nurses support patients through pre-procedure assessment, sedation monitoring, intra-procedure assistance, and post-procedure recovery. RNs in this unit work closely with physicians and anesthesia to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered care. The environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and focused on high-quality outcomes, patient education, and smooth procedural flow.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required
  • Current Ohio license or interim permit

  • Experience in relevant care setting preferred

Responsibilities
