About The Position

Bi-Bett Corporation, a California non-profit with 50 years of experience, provides treatment and recovery services for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders. They operate residential and outpatient SUD programs, recovery residences, and DUI Education in Alameda and Solano Counties. This role is for their Outpatient SUD programs. Spanish bilingual proficiency is required for one position and preferred for the other. The Bi-Bett Mission is to provide effective and affordable human services to individuals, families, and communities with alcohol and drug-related problems, believing that everyone has value and can grow through change if given the opportunity. Their goal is to create culturally appropriate alcohol and drug-free environments that foster personal and social growth.

Requirements

  • Certified AOD Counselor preferred, will consider candidates in possession of a registration to obtain certification as an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counselor issued by one of the certifying agencies approved by the State of California.
  • AMFT’s and ASW’s are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to relate to and educate a wide variety of people and an ability to set limits with adults.
  • Ability to maintain required and appropriate records.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is required for one position and preferred for the other.
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of culturally competent early intervention and treatment methods for beneficiaries in individual and group settings.
  • Knowledge of Evidence Based Treatment Practices such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Trauma-informed care, and DBT.
  • Knowledge and belief in collaboration and client-centered treatment planning/problem lists and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of ASAM Criteria.
  • Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing.
  • Knowledge of CBT.
  • Knowledge of DBT.
  • Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Knowledge of Harm Reduction.

  • Ability to facilitate engaging individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and provide crisis intervention when needed.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced outpatient environment while maintaining professionalism, flexibility, and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience facilitating outpatient groups.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience providing counseling.
  • Experience treating co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience facilitating Intensive Outpatient (IOP) groups.
  • Experience with Medi-Cal/DMC-ODS documentation.
  • Experience using electronic health records.
  • Spanish bilingual proficiency is preferred for one position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive intake assessments and collaborative treatment planning/problem list according to ASAM guidelines.
  • Collaborate and coordinate care with community resources.
  • Follow Bi-Bett Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain welcoming and culturally appropriate counseling and education.
  • Nurture relationships, collaborate and coordinate services with community partners.
  • Engage in group and individual supervision to discuss cases, consult in crisis situations, and treatment planning/problem list and execution.
  • Set appropriate limits to ensure safety for beneficiaries and staff.
  • Test for alcohol or drug intoxication when program requirements or clinical necessity dictates, either by observed urine testing or use of a breathalyzer.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Provide individual counseling, group counseling, and intensive SUD outpatient treatment services using evidence-based practices.
  • Provide services in accordance with professional ethics, agency policies, county contracts, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Complete all required documentation within established agency timelines.
  • Maintain complete and accurate client records within the agency's electronic health record.
  • Develop discharge plans and coordinate continuing care to support long-term recovery.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and support clients participating in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services when appropriate.
  • Respond to client, referral source, and professional communications within one business day.
