Under the direct supervision of Director of Acute Clinical Operation Surgical and Outpatient Services, the Outpatient Services and Float Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to outpatient infusion and therapy patients, including assessment, administration of prescribed treatments, medications, patient monitoring, education and coordination of care to ensure safe, high-quality clinical outcomes. Coordinate care with Rural Health Clinic staff and providers to ensure continuity of treatment and effective communication. Collaborate with outpatient scheduling to arrange infusion and therapy appointments, optimize patient flow, and facilitate timely access to prescribed treatments. Track patient appointments, including no shows and rescheduled visits, to ensure continuity of treatment and timely follow-up care. Prepare patient charts and conduct pre-therapy and infusion phone calls to improve patient compliance, readiness, and accountability for scheduled treatments. Coordinate medication availability with the Medication Room Coordinator to ensure prescribed therapies are available and administered as scheduled. Provide cross-coverage within Perioperative Services and Acute Care Nursing as needed, demonstrating flexibility while supporting safe, efficient, and patient-centered care across multiple clinical settings.
