About The Position

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency dedicated to treating and preventing substance use disorders and mental illness. Our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) in New Bedford provides methadone treatment to adults aged 18 and older with opioid use disorder. We focus on individualized treatment plans created with the patient and a multidisciplinary team. Populations served include men, women, pregnant women, patients with chronic illnesses, and those with dual diagnoses.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Maintain mental alertness and attention to high detail
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance and provide excellent customer service as needed
  • Follow established security protocols while using initiative and good judgment without bias
  • Must have reliable transportation, be consistent, and punctual
  • Experience in an OTP or Mental Health setting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the security and safety of staff and clients.
  • Patrol campus and maintain security of buildings and grounds.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and guests on campus.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, staff, and community members.
  • Help create and maintain a working relationship with local police and fire and rescue departments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of action plans for a safe environment and immediate response to threats of violence, criminal incidents, emergency medical incidents, auto accidents, and others.
  • Assist law enforcement officers as directed by administration.
  • Direct traffic and parking on campus; check vehicles for proper parking authorization; determine if vehicles are parked in restricted areas.
  • Maintain proper paperwork/reports to ensure all complaints filed with law enforcement have been signed off by program administration or their designated representative.
  • Ensure doors/gates are locked and opened at designated times determined by program administration.
  • Assist, direct, and monitor all persons entering and leaving the clinic property.
  • Monitor parking area to ensure no loitering or misconduct takes place, monitor lobby area, and conduct frequent sweeps of the entire building.
  • Interact with staff and patients in a professional manner at all times.
  • Direct emergency personnel arriving on facility property and maintain traffic flow during emergencies, such as fire drills.
  • Be knowledgeable of all emergency codes and appropriate responses.
  • Report any suspicious behavior to the Program Director and/or supervisors.
  • Complete reporting logs and/or incident reports as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
