About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Outpatient Scheduler to join our well-established GI practice. Requirements

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
Minimum 1 year experience working in a medical office or facility
EMR experience
Ability to type at least 40 wpm
Excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

Experience preferred, but will train the right person.

Responsibilities

Schedule a variety of outpatient procedures and follow up visits as requested by the physician, optimizing patient satisfaction and provider time by scheduling appointments in person and/or on the telephone.
Follows physician/provider orders for scheduling appropriate ancillary tests and procedures
Works directly with the patient and/or family to coordinate scheduled tests and procedures, answer questions, and provide instructions and educational materials
Interacts with hospital and facility staff to coordinate tests and procedures
Electronically enters information in the patient record
Answer calls and tasks
Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.
Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned that may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow
Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned that may include sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics
Adheres to HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality policies.
Provides excellent customer service at all times
