The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute’s (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in their own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, the outpatient RN plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care. The outpatient RN is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The outpatient RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model. Provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Responsibilities include patient assessment, symptom management, treatment education, care coordination, triage, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary oncology team to support safe, high-quality, patient-centered cancer care throughout the treatment continuum.
