Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical, occupational, or speech therapy from a college/university accredited by the respective national accrediting body (required)
  • Two (2) years of recent clinical experience in an environment commensurate with the practice setting and programmatic needs of the facility (required)
  • Licensed or eligible in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or State of Indiana, as appropriate to the facility (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or Doctorate level degree in related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Supervising operational activities and providing clinical management of rehab services to the patient populations served by the facility.
  • Directing, supervising, instructing, and evaluating professional staff, supportive staff, and students providing rehab services to patients.
  • Performing the duties of a clinical therapist.
  • Promoting smooth operations, prompt and effective response to problems/concerns, continued department development, and program expansion.
  • Coordinating interdepartmental functions and activities to ensure smooth and effective operations consistent with the objectives of the department, the facility, and of the Frazier Rehab Institute.
  • Communicating patient status by providing timely written or verbal communication to physicians and therapy customers.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with patients and family members, internal customers, and external customers.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the financial implications of treatment costs and resources on the department/facility by consistently working to provide cost effective treatment programming to served populations.
  • Ensuring that patient charges and corresponding clinical documentation are in compliance with regulatory standards and department policies and procedures.
  • Supervising department personnel for one - two locations in a manner that ensures the highest quality of services and according to organization and department policies and procedures.
  • Developing a department personnel schedule to maintain adequate staffing to provide services to the patients at the facility.
  • Working with other facility managers to ensure effective use of staff throughout the organization.
  • Monitoring and reviewing work of personnel to ensure that productivity, standards of practice, and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
  • Coaching and counseling department personnel to facilitate optimum team member performance.
  • Encouraging staff participation in program development, performance improvement activities, and community events sponsored by the organization.
  • Responding to team members’ concerns by demonstrating effective listening skills, problem solving skills, and participatory management when situations require intervention.
  • Communicating issues with the Manager/Director or Administration as appropriate.
  • Managing department operations in one – two locations in a manner that ensures the highest quality of services and according to organization and department policies and procedures.
  • Performing the clinical duties of a supervising therapist, exhibiting an advanced level of clinical competence.
  • Evaluating and implementing competent therapy treatment and providing regular re-assessments for the purpose of treatment modification, to maximize patients’ potential for functional independence, all in accordance with acceptable practice guidelines and department policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with recruitment, interviewing, and selection of new personnel.
  • Completing required documentation and maintaining pertinent record of assigned patients to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Serving as a role model for the department by demonstrating commitment to professional growth, department growth and competency.
  • Providing appropriate supervision of personnel to maintain smooth operations of services.
  • Ensuring that all new team members complete organization and department orientation.
  • Demonstrating the ability to be efficient and productive by organizing job duties and responsibilities.
  • Assisting Manager/Director in completing and maintaining budgets.
  • Actively participating in departmental/programmatic meetings, constructively expressing concerns and ideas.
  • Assessing the need for purchase of new equipment and supplies and communicating this information on a timely basis to the Manager/Director.
  • Clearly communicating evaluation results, treatment plan, and goals to patients and/or family; providing written information when applicable.
  • Preparing to assume additional leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Manager.
  • Contributing to the organization and operation of the department/programs within the organization’s strategic plan and mission statement.
  • Maintaining compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
  • Complying with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
