About The Position

The role may include delegating appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff, including RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. As a member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, the RN participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities that support patient outcomes and facility operations. Duties are performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policies, procedures, nursing practice standards, and applicable state and federal regulations. The RN works under a Supervisor’s direction, with guidance from a Clinical Educator or Preceptor, or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses. The role involves direct patient care in a health care facility and may require travel to training sites or other facilities. The RN may also be asked to perform the position’s essential functions at other locations with the same physical demands and working conditions. The position regularly involves heavy lifting, moving patients, and assisting with ambulation, with equipment or coworker assistance available. It requires frequent, prolonged standing and bending. The employee may occasionally move machines and equipment weighing up to 200 pounds with assistance and lift chemical and water solutions weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of five feet. The work environment has controlled air temperature and moderate noise levels, and may involve exposure to infectious or contagious diseases and materials. Daily work also includes desk and computer work and interaction with patients, facility or hospital staff, and physicians. Fresenius Medical Care maintains a drug-free workplace in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and is an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate on the listed protected or other non-merit-based factors.
