About The Position

The Outpatient Registered Nurse CAP 1 is an entry-level designation in Fresenius Kidney Care’s Clinical Advancement Program. The role is accountable for providing and coordinating clinically competent care—including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation—for an assigned group of patients. The RN may delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff, including RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. As a member of the End Stage Kidney Disease health care team, the nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities to improve patient outcomes and facility operations. The RN performs duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policies and procedures, nursing practice standards, and applicable state and federal regulations. Essential functions are carried out under a Supervisor’s direction, with guidance from a Clinical Educator or Preceptor, or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses. The position provides direct patient care in a healthcare facility and may require travel to training sites or other facilities, or work at other locations with the same physical demands and working conditions. The role involves regular heavy lifting, moving patients, and assisting with ambulation; equipment or coworkers may assist. It also requires frequent, prolonged standing and bending. The employee may occasionally move machines or equipment weighing up to 200 pounds with assistance and lift chemical and water solutions weighing up to 30 pounds to a height of five feet. The work environment has controlled air temperature and moderate noise levels and may involve exposure to infectious or contagious diseases or materials. Daily work includes desk and computer work and interaction with patients, facility or hospital staff, and physicians. The hourly pay range is $35.00–$60.00, depending on work location and the candidate’s qualifications, including education, experience, skills, and competencies. The stated benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, parental leave, and, for bonus-eligible positions, the potential for performance-based bonuses depending on company and individual performance.
