About The Position

Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring a sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology, a high degree of technical competency, and the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with a minimum of supervision. Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Other duties as deemed necessary. A technologist utilizes RIS and PACS systems to complete clerical and administrative functions Maintains continuing education through regular in-service education, participates in staff meetings, completes annual departmental competencies, and establishes appropriate work assignments to assure optimum utilization of human and material resources. Performs high-quality diagnostic radiology examinations for the physician’s interpretation; prepares and administers various contrast agents under the supervision of a physician Practices sterile technique when applicable and universal precautions during procedures/ exams. Monitors any staff and/or student activities during clinical assignments from the technologist’s perspective.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Must obtain ARRT Radiology Registration within 6 months of hire date.
  • Experience:0-2years
  • Skills: General and ortho exams.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
