Outpatient Psychiatrist - Intensive Outpatient Program
About The Position
Inova Health is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Psychiatrist to join the Inova Behavioral Health team. This role supports Inova's mission of promoting total wellness by offering a full spectrum of mental health and addiction treatment services. The position is split between an outpatient clinic and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), providing a blend of clinical opportunities. In the outpatient clinic, responsibilities include managing a small caseload for medication management and assisting with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and esketamine treatments as part of the neuromodulation program. In the IOP, the psychiatrist will conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and provide clinical consultation to patients in structured outpatient behavioral health services. This involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient stabilization, treatment planning, symptom management, and safe transitions to ongoing care. Inova Behavioral Health offers an extensive continuum of care, including urgent psychiatric assessment, inpatient psychiatry, detoxification, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, outpatient psychiatric appointments, and outpatient counseling services. The multidisciplinary care team includes psychiatrists, licensed therapists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, mental health technicians, and patient care coordination managers. Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Osteopathic degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
- Successful completion of an ACGME physician residency program.
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
- Virginia DEA.
- Ability to be credentialed by the Inova Health System as an associate member of the Medical Staff with clinical privileges in Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities
