About The Position

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Outpatient Practice Coding Supervisor to join their team. This position will be responsible for the oversight of practice coding.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience leading a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and support skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Health Information Management preferred
  • Certification by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred
  • Previous HIM experience is strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function in HIM
  • Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels
  • Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff
  • Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
  • Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs
  • Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels
  • Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints
