About The Position

Loyola Medicine is seeking a compassionate and skilled Phlebotomist to join their team in Maywood, IL. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting biological samples using approved techniques for laboratory testing from patients of all ages, and performing electrocardiograms (EKGs) for cardiology interpretation. Requirements

• High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
• Less than one year of previous job-related experience
• Three year or more years of phlebotomy experience

Nice To Haves

• CPR must be obtained within 90 days of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Only.
• Phlebotomy certification - Certifying agencies: ASPT – American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians, NCCT- National Center for Competency Testing, NHA – National Healthcare Association (CPT), NPA – National Phlebotomy Association

Responsibilities

• Collect quality biological samples for laboratory testing from all patient populations (pediatric through geriatric) using approved techniques.
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) for cardiology interpretation.
• Focus on the needs of the patient.
• Exemplify the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect and cooperation.
