About The Position

Loyola Medical Center, located in the western suburbs of Chicago, is seeking a Full-time Outpatient Phlebotomist for the Day Shift. This role involves using approved techniques to collect quality biological samples for laboratory testing from all patient populations (pediatric through geriatric) and performing electrocardiograms (EKGs) for cardiology interpretation. The Phlebotomist will focus on patient needs and exemplify the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect, and cooperation. The position requires experience with Pediatrics and involves working Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with every other Saturday from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The area of work is Outpatient in Maywood, IL.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.
  • Graduate of a phlebotomy training program that provides a clinical rotation from an accredited school.
  • 1.5 years of phlebotomy work experience is required.
  • Must have professional ability to interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior Level Phlebotomist experience with Pediatrics required.
  • CPR must be obtained within 90 days of hire (American Heart Association ONLY).
  • Certificates from a technical college where the course was only taken are NOT accepted.
  • Must have sat for a certification exam from an agency such as ASPT, NCCT, NHA (CPT), or NPA with one of the following valid certifications: Phlebotomy certification.
