About The Position

Assists in the nonprofessional aspects of preparing and distributing medications & performs the clerical duties of the dept. All medication-associated duties are performed under the direct supervision of licensed personnel (Registered Pharmacists). Thompson Health has a culture of empowerment. Requirements

High School education
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Demonstrates knowledge in aseptic techniques for the preparation of IV solutions
Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Hospital’s Information System (Pharmacy and B/AR), as well as the ability to work in Microsoft’s Word and Excel

Nice To Haves

Healthcare/pharmacy experience preferred but not required
Pharmacy Technician Certification & NYS license preferred

Responsibilities

Assists in the nonprofessional aspects of preparing and distributing medications
Performs the clerical duties of the department
Demonstrates skill in daily communication including effectively gathering and disseminating information
Demonstrates flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments
Demonstrates skill on proactively resolving problems, recommending, and implementing continuous quality improvements
Demonstrates knowledge in aseptic techniques for the preparation of IV solutions
Provides customer service and support in a manner consistent with the health system’s goals and expectations
