The Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for greeting customers, answering telephone inquiries (and referring callers to the pharmacist when necessary), prepare prescription labels by entering them into the pharmacy operating system, accept prescriptions for filling (and gathering/processing necessary information), process prescription refill requests and/or authorizations, operate the cash register and credit card billing process, perform clerical work for billing and record keeping, process insurance claims, posting bills, calculating copayments, receive/store/inventory supplies and medication, check for outdated products, compose letters, prepare and maintain records/inventories/receipts, assist in auditing 340B and controlled substance records, and other tasks as assigned.
