About The Position

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) reports to the site supervisor and the radiology manager. Under general supervision, the MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations for physician interpretation. Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school of imaging.
  • Registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) in MRI.
  • Must obtain registry within 1 year of hire.
  • Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be familiar with age-specific criteria.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
  • Graduated from an accredited imaging program.
  • Registry eligible ARRT(MR)
  • Must obtain MRI registration within 1 year of hire date.
  • BLS
  • 0-2 years of modality specific experience required.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • ARRT MRI registration required within one year.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols while maintaining image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow.
  • Completes patient screening, exam documentation, and image verification in RIS and PACS to support timely physician interpretation
  • Maintains image quality, productivity, and efficient patient workflow.
  • Adheres to departmental standards and modality-specific protocols.
  • Provides safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
  • Utilizes the SHIELD reporting platform when there is an event that occurs outside a normal encounter.
  • Adheres to all MRI safety requirements, including zone protocols, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices.
  • Upholds compliance and organizational standards.
  • Performs routine equipment quality control checks, assisting with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and placing tickets as needed.
  • Supports onboarding and training of staff and students.
  • Facilitates a positive work and learning environment.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, and safety.
  • Participates in staff meetings, lunch and learns, and quality meetings.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor in attitude, appearance, and communication.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
