About The Position

Massachusetts General Hospital’s Outpatient PT/OT Department has an opening for a certified lymphedema therapist. MGH is one of the world’s most distinguished medical centers and one of the top cancer centers in the country. As a member of the rehabilitation team, you would have opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with MGH’s leading experts in lymphatic diseases and oncology. As a Lymphatic Education and Research Network Center of Excellence, we see patients with lymphedema affecting the breast, trunk, head and neck, genital, upper and/or lower extremity regions, and patients with lipedema. We have a growing lymphatic surgery practice across MGB. Ongoing mentorship will be provided to this candidate, including potential opportunities for research collaboration with the Lymphedema Research Program.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Occupational Therapy required
  • Minimum master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy
  • MA licensed
  • Lymphedema Certification (135 hours)
  • Completed full certification in lymphedema training (LANA not required)
  • Experience in treating lymphedema population
  • Strong framework for clinical examination/evaluation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Clinical curiosity that drives learning
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • experience in a residential/assisted living or skilled nursing facility 3-5 years preferred
