About The Position

Massachusetts General Hospital’s Outpatient PT/OT Department has an opening for a certified lymphedema therapist. MGH is one of the world’s most distinguished medical centers and one of the top cancer centers in the country. As a member of the rehabilitation team, you would have opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with MGH’s leading experts in lymphatic diseases and oncology. As a Lymphatic Education and Research Network Center of Excellence, we see patients with lymphedema affecting the breast, trunk, head and neck, genital, upper and/or lower extremity regions, and patients with lipedema. We have a growing lymphatic surgery practice across MGB. Ongoing mentorship will be provided to this candidate, including potential opportunities for research collaboration with the Lymphedema Research Program.

Requirements

Master's Degree Occupational Therapy required
Minimum master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy
MA licensed
Lymphedema Certification (135 hours)
Completed full certification in lymphedema training (LANA not required)
Experience in treating lymphedema population
Strong framework for clinical examination/evaluation skills
Excellent communication skills
Clinical curiosity that drives learning
Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent time management skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills required.

Nice To Haves

experience in a residential/assisted living or skilled nursing facility 3-5 years preferred
