About The Position
Inova Children's Multispecialty – Willow Oaks is looking for a dedicated Outpatient Lactation Consultant to join the team. This role will be full time day shift from Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing- or Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition-or Bachelor's Degree in related field
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
- RN current licensure to practice as Registered Nurse by VA Board of Nurse Examiners or Registered Dietician
- 2 years of lactation experience
- BLS from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Combines expert clinical experience with dedicated, personalized care to allow each mother to find the best version of breastfeeding success for herself and her baby.
- Evaluates maternal history, patient medical and clinical information, and assesses patient/parent needs to develop and implement the most appropriate lactation plan of care.
- Applies scientific knowledge to the process of diagnosis and treatment.
- Instructs patients and caregivers on lactation plan.
