Performs venous, capillary, and line collections, and Point of Care (POC) testing of all ages to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Acts as a subject matter expert on instructing patients with collections of various specimen types. Performs all processes and procedures according to protocol. Responsible for accurate patient identification, specimen integrity, and sample labeling. Interacts with customers in a pleasant, efficient, and cooperative manner. Performs work in a fast-paced environment. Works cooperatively with peers, gives and receives constructive feedback. Responsible for training, educating, and mentoring new and existing staff, troubleshooting, and resolving problems. Must be able to prioritize work, accommodate scheduling adjustments, and have good decision-making skills. Must maintain a professional image at all times. Participates in special projects as assigned by the management team and serves as a resource to others. May be required to attend the Mayo Clinic phlebotomy training program. Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; Also, this position DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
