About The Position
The Outpatient Lab Phlebotomist is a PRN position for the first shift. This role involves drawing blood by capillary or venipuncture, properly labeling tubes, and delivering them to the lab according to policy. The phlebotomist will also accession and process specimens to ensure efficient workflow and provide exceptional service and communication to create a positive experience for patients, providers, and co-workers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) requirement is based on work location
Responsibilities
- Draws blood by capillary or venipuncture
- Labels tubes properly
- Delivers tubes to Lab according to Laboratory Policy and Procedure
- Accessions and processes specimens to ensure efficient workflow
- Provides exceptional service and communication to ensure a positive experience for patients, providers and co-workers
