Outpatient Internal Medicine Physician
About The Position
Ascension is seeking an Outpatient Internal Medicine Physician to join the Joshua Max Simon Primary Care Center (PCC) on the Ascension St. Vincent 86th Street Hospital Campus in Indianapolis, IN. This PRN position requires 4-5 shifts per month with schedule flexibility, offering Monday-Friday shift options. The role involves a clinical teaching faculty position within a busy Resident Faculty Practice, where you will mentor residents while serving a diverse community and championing high-quality care for underserved, uninsured, and underinsured patients. The practice setting is a dedicated, 100% outpatient ambulatory clinic. You will utilize Athena (PCC outpatient) and Sunrise (inpatient reference) EMR systems. This is an employed Provider AMG Contract position (W2).
Requirements
- Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Internal Medicine
- Open to qualified new graduates or experienced physicians.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
- Passion for Academic Mentorship: A strong, demonstrable interest in clinical teaching, residency supervision, and academic development.
- Cultural Humility & Adaptability: Experience or a deep comfort level working with complex medical histories, diverse populations, non-English speakers, and underserved demographics.
- True Schedule Flexibility: Ability to support a balanced PRN rotation across various half-day blocks throughout the workweek.
