We are currently seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Outpatient Intake Coordinator to join our team. This position serves as the first point of contact for many of our patients and referral sources, making it an essential role in creating a welcoming and positive experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Medical Intake Coordinator, Patient Scheduler, or in a similar healthcare administrative role required.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Accurate data entry skills and proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and prior authorizations preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the intake, admission, and registration process for new patients.
  • Accurately enter and maintain patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients, referral sources, and insurance representatives with questions.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations.
  • Schedule patient appointments and provide appointment follow-up as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
  • Maintain organizational system and filing for Supervisors.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients and their families throughout the intake process
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, family members, referral sources, and clinical staff to ensure seamless communication.
  • Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned.
