About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Outpatient General Physiatrist to join our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation team. This position will focus on outpatient care, but will also share inpatient consultation duties. Outpatient responsibilities involve providing care for a wide variety of patients with musculoskeletal, spine conditions, and neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, acquired brain injury), as well as amputation and providing continuity of care for patients who were discharged from our acute inpatient rehabilitation. Inpatient care will involve performing hospital consultations in the intensive care unit and general medical floor at our Level I Trauma Center and acute care hospital. Candidates with interest or experience in procedures such as joint injections, musculoskeletal ultrasound, cryoneurolysis, nerve blocks and botulinum toxin injections for spasticity management are especially welcomed.

Requirements

  • Must possess (or be eligible for) current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota
  • Completion of an ACGME or Royal Canadian Internal Medicine residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. If Board Eligible, must be Board Certified within 4 years from the date of completion of the applicable residency, fellowship or training program
  • Current D.E.A. Certificate or be eligible for certificate
  • Current Life Support Certification or complete course within 2 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or experience in procedures such as joint injections, musculoskeletal ultrasound, cryoneurolysis, nerve blocks and botulinum toxin injections for spasticity management.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Brain Injury Medicine or Spinal Cord Injury Medicine.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and families, treatment team members and staff, referring parties and hospital leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Sharing inpatient consultation duties.

  • May be eligible for academic appointment at the University of Minnesota.
