An Outlet Food Runner at Waldorf Astoria New York plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience, ensuring that each dish reaches our guests promptly and in pristine condition. With precision and grace, they transport food from the kitchen to the restaurant, presenting each item with an elegant description that enhances the guest’s culinary journey. Their keen attention to detail, refined service approach, and seamless coordination with the kitchen and service teams contribute to an atmosphere of sophistication and excellence.

Requirements

  • Has previous experience as a Food Runner or in a similar role within a luxury restaurant
  • Is well-spoken and able to communicate dish details with sophistication and confidence
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment while maintaining grace and composure
  • Possesses a keen eye for detail and a passion for luxury hospitality
  • Works seamlessly with both front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure flawless service
  • Brings a positive attitude, professionalism, and a genuine desire to create memorable dining experiences

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally has worked in a Michelin-starred or Forbes Five-Star dining establishment

Responsibilities

  • Transporting food items to and from the kitchen with efficiency and care, ensuring each dish is presented at the perfect temperature and quality
  • Describing dishes to guests with confidence and elegance, enhancing their dining experience with thoughtful service
  • Checking, maintaining, and controlling inventory of food items to ensure seamless service and availability
  • Performing general cleaning to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and luxury in all service areas
  • Putting away food stock and dry goods according to established standards, maintaining organization and excellence behind the scenes
