About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for the structural fitting and mechanical outfitting of the craft. This includes aligning and installing various equipment on the craft. You will perform work from Engineering drawings, sketches, written and verbal instructions, and maintain records, forms, and logs as required. Other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of previous experience
  • Ability to read blueprints, shop orders, sketches, and drawings
  • Ability to perform shop mathematics
  • Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed
  • General understanding of metric measuring system
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Must have the ability to move extremities and spine throughout a sufficient range of motion that will permit the employee to work in a variety of postures involving a range from floor to overhead level.
  • Flexing and twisting of the trunk and other awkward postures are occasionally required.
  • Must have good dexterity and frequently use one and two hands throughout the work period for handling tools and materials.
  • Must have sufficient cardiorespiratory fitness to be able to perform heavy work.
  • Must be able to safely tolerate heavy demands on the cardiorespiratory system in various temperature ranges and humidity.
  • Include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, crawling, sense of touch, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant/reading, reaching, hearing, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs and balancing.
  • Must be able to perform heavy physical labor as classified by the United States Department of Labor.
  • Physical demands typically involve lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling not to exceed 60 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Naval craft experience is a plus.
