About The Position

High Steel Structures is seeking a 3rd-shift Outdoor Industrial Skilled Laborer in Lancaster, PA. This role involves performing duties related to the fabrication of steel for bridges and transportation projects. Coworkers on the 3rd shift receive a 25% shift differential and work four nights per week, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM. The job requires working outdoors 100% of the time in all weather conditions.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED
Willingness to work outdoors, 100% of the time, in all weather conditions, is required.
Experience using hand and power tools, including drills.
A valid PA driver's license is required.
The ability to read, write, and follow directions.

Nice To Haves

Previous steel erection (iron worker) or general laborer experience preferred.
Previous rigging experience desired.
Forklift certification desired, or willingness to obtain while on the job.
Prior experience in truck driving preferred.
Experience operating a yard crane or travel lift a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform all required duties to pre-punch or pre-drilled holes at splice section of steel bridge girders.
Match mark plates, as necessary.
Walk with and guide the MI Jack.
Chain products to trucks.
Set blocking for loading and storing products.
Assist with onside iron work duties.
Use electric drills to drill holes where needed.
Learn and operate Mi-Jack equipment.
