About The Position

Woods Machinery is seeking an experienced Outdoor Power Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of the outdoor power equipment brands we represent and support. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with small engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components, along with a commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as an Outdoor Power Equipment Mechanic or Small Engine Mechanic.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with gasoline engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
  • Experience servicing commercial landscaping equipment such as mowers, blowers, chainsaws, and compact utility equipment.
  • Proficient with computers and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must possess standard tools required for equipment repairs.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, dust, and noise.
  • Willingness to work overtime when business demands require.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or certifications related to small engines, electrical systems, and equipment repair are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on outdoor power equipment including, but not limited to: commercial mowers, stand-on and walk-behind units, compact tractors, utility vehicles, blowers, chainsaws, and other landscape equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, blade sharpening, belt replacement, and equipment inspections.
  • Conduct thorough equipment inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment efficiently.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and maintain detailed service records.
  • Consistently achieve and adhere to the allocated flat-rate or estimated hours for each repair task.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assist with equipment setup and pre-delivery inspections as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
