Piedmont Wildlife Center is seeking part-time Outdoor Camp Counselors to join their team. This role involves leading nature-based day camps for children ages 5-12, co-leading a group of up to 15 campers with a teen Counselor-in-Training (CIT). The position requires facilitating engaging, hands-on activities that foster curiosity, environmental awareness, and a connection to nature. Counselors are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and fun outdoor learning environment, supporting group dynamics, and addressing individual camper needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sharing their skills in education, outdoor survival, ecology, or storytelling to help campers connect with and protect the natural world. The camps operate out of Leigh Farm Park in Durham County and Blackwood Farm Park in Orange County, and also at Umstead State Park in Wake County. The organization emphasizes discussing the history of these lands with staff and campers, acknowledging the indigenous and enslaved peoples who cared for the land.
