About The Position

We are seeking an Outbound Supervisor to work in the Blairs, Virginia, warehouse. The Outbound Supervisor is responsible for managing and directing efficient work flow associated with the Shipping Department.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of distribution warehouse procedures, practices, and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate with management, colleagues, line staff, and individuals outside the company in order to meet departmental goals.
  • Strong analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, WMS and JDE
  • Ability to manage groups through project implementation.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to three years’ experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment required.
  • Management experience required.
  • Valid State Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the shipping of customer orders with 100% accuracy.
  • Monitors, and maintains departmental budget.
  • Develops, executes, and revises departmental SOP’s to enhance quality, quantity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates compliance in established warehouse systems integrity relative to RF and system verification tools.
  • Ensures the safe and proper handling of goods through material handling equipment.
  • Manages adherence to departmental housekeeping procedures through the removal of cardboard, plastic, paper, and other warehouse debris.
  • Maintains records necessary for the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely reports.
  • Interacts with all areas of the department to understand issues and assess needs to improve consistency and integrity of processes.
  • Responsible for daily management and supervision of departmental workforce including: providing direction, setting deadlines, and resolving problems. Administers corrective action according to company guidelines.
  • Attends daily management meetings.
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills. Stays current with developments within the manufacturing and distribution field and shares expertise with others.
  • Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others, and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • A commitment to companywide quality and safety is required.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
