About The Position

The 2nd Shift Outbound Supervisor is responsible for establishing and maintaining daily work schedules, coordinating job activities and tasks of the picking and loading shifts, and overseeing the nightly routing of in-town deliveries. This role involves developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results, establishing and communicating job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports, and interacting effectively with peers and leadership. The supervisor will provide input and recommendations for operational improvements, recommend personnel for advancement and termination, and address warehouse issues while upholding established standards. Additionally, the role includes leading and facilitating warehouse personnel meetings, training and developing direct reports, observing and evaluating employee performance, ensuring a safe work environment, and managing direct reports to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to recommend, interpret, and apply operating policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of products and services of the company
  • Ability to manage direct reports relating to training, development, motivation, retention and discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in Epicor Eclipse WMS
  • Ability to evaluate work performance and motivate behavior changes among direct reports when necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prepares written materials to meet purpose and audience
  • Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and performance of direct reports
  • Works cooperatively and collaboratively within a group

  • Frequently required to lift and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on pallets and shelves at various heights
  • Final candidates will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Previous supervisory experience, preferred
  • Experience in electrical supply, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain daily work schedules considering shift needs

  • Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to their direct reports to assure mutual understanding and desired results

  • Recommends personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate
  • Addresses warehouse issues, escalates to leadership; consistently upholds established standards to ensure equitable treatment of warehouse personnel
  • Leads, plans and facilitates regularly scheduled warehouse personnel meetings
  • Train and develop direct reports to achieve their maximum professional potential to retain a motivated and productive workforce
  • Observes and evaluates employees’ work performance; provides feedback and coaching as appropriate, including completion of annual performance reviews
  • Ensures a safe environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
  • Manages direct reports to ensure they comply with established policies and procedures, including but not limited to those outlined in the Employee Handbook and OSHA safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned
