Outbound Shipping Clerk – McKenzie, TN
About The Position
Allegion is seeking an Outbound Shipping Clerk to support daily outbound shipping operations. This role involves logging orders, routing, and tracking shipments. The Outbound Shipping Clerk will prepare shipping documentation, coordinate freight pickups for pool and LTL shipments, and monitor freight charges to ensure cargo is routed efficiently. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Basic math and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)
- Legally authorized to be employed in the United States
- Qualified candidates must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.)
Nice To Haves
- 0 to 2 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or clerical roles (Preferred)
- Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS) (Preferred)
- Knowledge of different types of doors, frames, and hardware (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Execute daily functions of the shipping and allocations office, focusing on pool and LTL shipments
- Prepare and verify bills of lading and other outbound shipping documentation
- Manage the filing of paperwork and ensure the organized filing of important shipping documents
- Schedule pool truck routes, stage equipment, and coordinate deliveries with carriers
- Monitor freight charges and fuel surcharges for all outbound traffic
- Work required overtime and occasional Saturdays during peak business periods to complete department responsibilities
