As an Outbound Dock Supervisor at Southeastern Freight Lines, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of dock operations, including supervising and coordinating dock associates and yard activities. Your role will involve managing the routing of shipments, as well as the loading and unloading of freight. A key part of your duties will be to ensure timely closure of Pickup & Delivery (P&D) units, handle special customer requests efficiently, and guarantee the timeliness of inbound close-outs. You will also be accountable for the quality of P&D loading, ensuring accuracy in stops, weight, and load conditions to meet error-free standards for P&D Drivers. Furthermore, you will implement and maintain effective loss prevention plans within the Service Center, collaborating with relevant personnel and utilizing process improvement methodologies. You will be responsible for the integrity of P&D loads originating from the Service Center, with a focus on continuous improvement. Strategic planning of warehouse and storage area layouts, considering factors like turnover, size, and weight, will also fall under your purview. You will determine work procedures, prepare schedules, expedite workflow, assign duties, and ensure work conforms to policies and procedures. Finally, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating significant risks.
