About The Position

Outboard Motor Maintenance / Overhaul (OBM) Support personnel provide advanced technical expertise in the repair, overhaul, and sustainment of small craft propulsion systems and associated equipment. Supporting the Maritime Division Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO), this role ensures the operational readiness of critical watercraft used in Naval Special Warfare missions. The position includes performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on engines, craft, trailers, and electrical systems. This role directly contributes to mission success by maintaining high reliability and readiness of maritime assets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of Outboard Motor Maintenance and Overhaul experience
  • Marine engine systems, troubleshooting, and repair procedures
  • Performing depot-level repairs and overhauls
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and wiring for small craft
  • Certification as a BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) and Wing Inflatables factory authorized technician and repair specialist
  • Interpret and apply manufacturer technical manuals and repair standards
  • Clearance: Secret
  • U.S. citizen
  • Driver’s License required
  • Must be able to operate Government vehicles and material handling equipment
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must maintain high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Must have knowledge of logistics and maintenance tracking systems
  • Must be able to operate within classified environments and systems (Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) / Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET))
  • Must comply with all safety, security, and workplace regulations

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete breakdown, inspection, and repair of approximately 550 outboard motors ranging from 15HP to 300HP
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs in accordance with manufacturer technical manuals
  • Repair and maintain 8-meter and 11-meter safety support craft
  • Repair and maintain Combat Rubber Raiding Crafts (CRRC) and associated equipment
  • Conduct aluminum welding and structural repairs as required
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair boat trailers, including bearing removal and replacement
  • Perform advanced electrical wiring repairs, including installation of radar systems
  • Maintain inventory of Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and tools
  • Assist the 3-Maintenance Material Management (3M) Coordinator (3MC) with database entries and status updates
  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs meet quality, safety, and operational standards
